Fields of Gold

3 7x5 panels acrylic on masonite
I painted this landscape at the Daniel Boone Homestead. I wanted to have a more panoramic feel to express the incredible space. So I decided to try out a triptych approach. Still really enjoy painting on panels more so than canvas.

Rocky Beach

9x12 acrylic on masonite board
I painted this right on the beach in Cape Henlopen Park in Delaware. It was the perfect day for painting with a nice breeze coming off the ocean. I discovered I really like painting on masonite. It has no "give" like stretched canvas and I can get more detailed without competing with the texture that canvas has.

Pilot's Point

7x20 acrylic on panel
Painted at Pilot's Point in Cape Henlopen Park in Delaware. This is the most beautiful location in the whole park. I just loved the long bluish shadows cast by the tall grass and fence. It was so windy though the sand actually mixed with my paint.

Something's in the Air

24x18 acrylic on canvas
This is Boyertown's foundry located right next door to the YMCA. I painted this from several photos that I took before going to work at about 7AM just as the sun was rising. I couldn't help but think about Monet and his interests in the color of steam and how the lighting effects it.

Hartman's Farm, Route 562

24x48 acrylic on canvas
A beautiful farm I drive past on my way to the GoggleWorks on Route 562 in Oley. I love the vast sky and space. SOLD

Blue View

10x8 acrylic on acid-free ragboard
I painted this outside the post office in Boyertown during the global paint-out.

Pleasant Pastures, For Now

8x20 acrylic on canvas
I painted this on Longacre's Farm along Route 100. A very warm day, couldn't get the cows out from the trees. It was an unexpected bonus to catch the development construction in the background.

The Willows

10x8 acrylic on canvas
This was the results of my one hour challenge; to force myself to paint faster. I learned it helps to use the largest brush possible. This was painted in Wayne, PA.

Daniel Boone Glimmer

10x8 acrylic on canvas
I painted this smokehouse at Daniel Boone's Homestead. I like how the roof complements the sky.

Porch Light

12x6 acrylic on canvas
I find that light is a huge inspiration for me. I also like composing the shapes that make up a painting. Can you tell? This porch is in Wayne, PA.

Boyertown Railroad

12x16 acrylic on canvas
I painted this during the Plein Air Festival in Boyertown and won first place! I chose this location because I liked the sunlight on the red building and how the railroad leads the viewer into the painting. Also, because the railroad was sold and there's talk about putting in a parking lot. So, this is capturing a bit of Boyertown's history.

Kutztown

14x11 acrylic on canvas
I painted this during the Kutztown Plein Air Festival. I chose the Main Street to capture the general feeling of the area. SOLD

Hidden Treasures

12x9 acrylic on canvas
My friend, Sue, and I painted in this orchard near her house. It was like finding hidden treasure. A fun day.

Out West

3x3 acrylic on canvas
Part of the miniature series. Again, trying to imply big space on a small canvas. SOLD

Tall Trees

3x2 acrylic on canvas
This is one of a series of miniature paintings that I did based on my cross-country road trip. This one's from the Yellowstone National Park. SOLD

Yellowstone

3x2 acrylic on canvas
One of the miniature series from Yellowstone National Park. SOLD

Big Sky

3x3 acrylic on canvas
Part of the miniature series. Again, trying to imply big space on a small canvas. SOLD

Chanticleer for Two

12x6 acrylic on canvas
This was painted at Chanticleer Gardens in Wayne, PA. A very beautiful place filled with painting possibilities. I liked the way they had pairs of chairs placed throughout the gardens. The bright pink against the dark textured greens caught my eye. It sold to a couple as a Valentine's Day gift.

The Way

10x8 acrylic on canvas
A pathway through Chanticleer Gardens in Wayne, PA. A challenge in portraying a range of greens.

Along the Side

14x11 acrylic on canvas
This is actually the side of a garage. Painted in Wayne, PA, the beginning of plein air painting.

Sunflowers

30x40 acrylic on canvas
My neighbor's house and children. This was a major transitional painting for me. It was the beginning of painting the exterior and outdoor views.

Sun Worshipper

40x48 acrylic on canvas
My Boston Terrier in my (once new) home. How I love the strong geometrical patterns of light.

New Beginning

46x36 acrylic on canvas
A wonderful moment captured in several photos of my once very young son, now captured in paint. It has a timeless feeling about it. I like the sense of mystery and the juxtaposition of the dark shadows and almost threatening window sashes to the toddler. This is part of a series about windows.

Mother's Day

12x16 acrylic on canvas
Part of the Window series. A Mother's Day gift from my son.

Past, Present, and Future

48x36 acrylic on canvas
Part of the Window series. I like the strong light, the play of shadows and the reflection in the glass.

Lindsay Reading

40x54 acrylic on canvas
Part of the Window series. I wanted to experiment with using shadows as a positive shape, to create balance in the composition. This is my largest painting and was quite a physical workout.

Blue Chair

12x24 acrylic on canvas
I couldn't resist painting the rosy light that came in my room at sunset. Another balancing act of positive and negative space.

Mike and Joel

12x9 acrylic on canvas
One of the earlier Window series paintings.

Mike Reading

12x16 acrylic on canvas
An early window series painting. One of the first of the series to show my interest in geometrical light.

Hope

18x18 acrylic on canvas
A still life inspired by my dying plant. It was one of my favorites and I kept hoping it would come back.

Studio Floor

20x18 oil on primed paper
My attempt at finding the abstract in the real.

Can-opener

22x16 watercolor
A still life inspired by Jim Dine; my feminine approach to tools.

Oranges

24x18 watercolor Part of a series of aerial perspective still lifes.

Midnight Tea

16x16 watercolor
Aerial perspectives of still life are my way of holding on to painting what I see while really painting abstractly. They're all about composing with shapes and color.

Golden Dreams

9x12 watercolor
Part of the aerial view still life series. I'm very much inspired by artists like Harriet Shorr, Sondra Freckelton, and Janet Fish.
